# Shio

> A clean, minimal SSH client for iPhone and iPad. Tailscale-native.

Shio is a premium iOS and iPadOS terminal app for developers who want to use their Mac from their phone. Built around Tailscale for one-tap, secure connections. Pre-launch — not yet on the App Store.

## Positioning

Shio is the terminal Apple would make if Apple made a terminal. The default SSH experience on iOS today is either cluttered (Termius), pro-coded with neglected UX (Blink), or abandonware. Shio is the quiet, premium, "just works" option — Things 3 / Bear / Linear–adjacent in craft.

## Tech

- iOS 16+ and iPadOS 16+
- Tailscale-native: discovers Macs over your tailnet, no port forwarding, no exposed ports
- Pro Mode unlocks full SSH config (custom ports, ProxyJump, raw hostnames) for power users
- No account. No telemetry. No data leaves your device unless you SSH it yourself.
